Intersections, Roundabouts and Priority

Slow down before the decision point

Approach intersections at a speed that allows a full stop. Check every direction, including pedestrian crossings and vehicles hidden by buildings or larger traffic.

Priority is not protection

Even when you have priority, confirm that others are stopping. Do not enter a blocked junction or use priority to force another person into emergency action.

Roundabout positioning

Choose the correct lane before entry, follow lane markings and signal clearly when leaving. Avoid changing lanes suddenly inside the roundabout.
