Expect the unexpected

Children, elderly people and distracted pedestrians may change direction suddenly. Reduce speed near crossings, schools, bus stops and parked vehicles.

Turning risk

Before turning, check for pedestrians and cycles travelling beside the vehicle. Large blind areas can hide a person even when mirrors were checked moments earlier.

Give breathing room

Do not squeeze past a cyclist or motorcycle. Wait for a clear opportunity and allow extra space in wind, rain or beside obstacles.
