Passengers, Loads and Roadside Incidents
Protect stability when carrying extra weight and when something goes wrong.
Prepare the passenger
The passenger should use suitable protective equipment, keep feet on the footrests and avoid sudden movement. Acceleration, braking and steering will feel different.
Secure the load
Keep luggage balanced, low and firmly attached. Nothing should interfere with steering, suspension, lights, exhaust or moving parts.
Respond to problems
If the motorcycle develops a wobble, puncture or mechanical problem, avoid abrupt control inputs. Reduce speed progressively and move to a safe stopping place when possible.
